JOB DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THE FACILITY
- A busy St. Louis hospital is seeking two fellowship-trained cardiac anesthesiologists due to recent retirements and physician departures. The cardiac team supports a high-volume cardiovascular program with approximately 400–500 open-heart cases annually and 8–9 cardiac operating rooms.

ABOUT THE CLINICIAN'S WORKDAY
- The physician will arrive at 6:30 a.m. for cardiac cases and line placement, with the first case beginning at 7:00 a.m. Most days finish between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., with an 8-hour daily guarantee.
- Depending on the daily assignment, the physician may perform their own cases or medically direct CRNAs and CAAs. The average medical-direction ratio is approximately 3:1.
- Optional overnight and 24-hour weekend beeper call is available. Callbacks are rare, and an overnight callback may result in a later start the following day.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS

- Credentialing: Approximately 90–120 days; may be completed in about 60 days depending on the clinician's background
- Temporary privileges: Not available
- Requirements: Cardiothoracic fellowship, Missouri license, ACLS, strong cardiac skills and comfort performing and interpreting TEE
- Additional skills: Must be comfortable with arterial lines, central lines and intubation; thoracic epidural and neuraxial skills are preferred
- Experience: No new graduates
- Epic: Strongly preferred; providers without Epic experience must complete required classes and online testing
- Travel and expenses: Airfare, hotel and rental car are covered through reimbursement
- Licensing: Missouri licensing costs may be reimbursed if needed
