  • Engagement with our community Position Overview The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is responsible for providing comprehensive anesthesia care across a variety of patient populations. This role includes patient assessment, development of anesthesia plans, administration of anesthesia, intraoperative monitoring, post-anesthesia care, and emergency response. The CRNA practices with a high degree of independence while collaborating closely with surgeons, physicians, and clinical staff to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care. Essential


  • Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthesia evaluations and patient assessments.
  • Develop individualized anesthesia care plans.
  • Obtain informed consent for anesthesia procedures.
  • Select, administer, and manage anesthetic agents, medications, and fluids.
  • Perform and manage regional anesthesia techniques, including: Local anesthesia, Spinal anesthesia, Epidural anesthesia, Caudal blocks, Peripheral nerve blocks, Intravenous regional anesthesia
  • Manage patient airways using advanced techniques, including intubation and mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia using invasive and non-invasive methods.
  • Respond to medical emergencies utilizing advanced life support protocols.
  • Evaluate post-anesthesia recovery and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Administer post-anesthesia medications and supportive therapies.
  • Discharge patients from post-anesthesia care when clinically appropriate.
  • Maintain competency and stay current with developments in anesthesia practice through continuing education and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education & Licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia educational program.
  • Current Montana CRNA license, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
  • Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) credential.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Required Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of CRNA experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced knowledge of anesthesia practices and patient care standards.
  • Demonstrated excellence in patient assessment and clinical care.
  • Ability to perform all duties outlined within Anesthesia Clinical Privileges. Physical
  • Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing, reaching, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50pounds at times.
  • Physical strength and agility to position patients.
  • Must have good vision, hearing, and communication skills.
  • Must be free of any ambulatory impairment or restrictions
