Cases vary: general, vascular, orthopedic, cardiac, and neurosurgery (trauma, OB, Ortho, Endo common CRNAs perform epidurals, spinals, central and arterial lines, and blocks independently. Case volume: Approximately 550 births and 3800 surgeries annually. Patient age range: newborns to centenarians Team structure: Three physicians and six certified registered nurse anesthetists Support staff: CRNAs practice independently with no medical supervision required under Nebraska law and handle their own cases
