About the Practice: A well-established and highly respected private anesthesia practice with locations in both the Norwalk and Hartford areas of Connecticut is seeking a dedicated and skilled General Anesthesiologist to join its growing team. The practice provides exceptional anesthesia services across a broad range of B&B surgical specialties in a supportive and collaborative environment.



Opportunity: There is an immediate full-time General Anesthesiologist job opening covering a diverse case mix including obstetrics (OB), pediatrics, vascular surgery, orthopedics, regional anesthesia, and outpatient surgery. Cardiac cases are negotiable. The position offers a manageable work-life balance with a low call schedule and a post-call day off.



Responsibilities: Provide and manage anesthesia for a wide variety of surgical and obstetrical procedures. Conduct thorough pre-anesthesia patient evaluations and develop individualized anesthetic plans. Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care utilizing current techniques and medications.


Continuously monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthetic delivery to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical conditions. Manage emergence from anesthesia and provide appropriate post-anesthesia care. Participate in a low call schedule with a post-call day off.


Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with practice policies and procedures. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all safety protocols.



Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. Board certification in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology 1 (AOBA) or board-eligible. Current unrestricted medical license in Connecticut (or eligibility for licensure).


Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a diverse patient population and case mix. Proficiency in a variety of anesthetic techniques, including general and regional anesthesia.


Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. A commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
