100% CT anesthesia group looking for fellowship-trained candidates. Anesthesia Specialists is an all-physician cardiac anesthesia group located in Norfolk Virginia. We exclusively practice cardiac anesthesia, supporting the entire range of adult cardiac and thoracic procedures except for lung transplantation and esophageal surgery.

Our physicians are all fellowship trained and maintain advanced TEE certification. Sentara Heart Hospital is the highest volume cardiac center in Virginia, and one of the busiest in the nation, performing approximately 1500 pumps, 900 structural heart cases, and 3000 EP procedures annually. We are a regional referral center for aortic alerts and shock alerts.

Our structural heart program is robust, and includes complex TAVR, mitral THV, mitral TEER, Watchman/Amulet cases, and percutaneous interventions on the tricuspid valve. We rank in the top 10 programs in the nation for MtraClip, Watchman, and TAVR volumes. Multiple clinical research trials are enrolling patients at Sentara Heart Hospital, and offer opportunities for applicants who desire ongoing involvement in research.

Academic faculty appointments are available for those who wish to teach. Our relationships with surgeons and cardiologists are warm, collegial, collaborative and genuinely a highlight of the practice. All care is physician-provided with no supervision of CRNAs.

Call is taken from home, with overnight first call covered by a rotating nighthawk system. Vacation and compensation are market-competitive, and our incomes reflect a premium for our value as cardiac subspecialists.
