Principal Duties and

Responsibilities: Clinical Care: As a staff anesthesiologist at the MGB OSC at Danvers, you are fully responsible for professional decisions with respect to the diagnosis and treatment of patients, including responsibility for clinical coverage assignments. Clinical responsibilities include evaluating and providing anesthetic care for patients. Essential elements include but are not limited to:

• Participation in the provision of quality, evidence-based care and assuring that expert level clinical care is provided to all patients.
• Maintain the highest levels of quality clinical care and patient satisfaction.
• Responsible for oversight of all clinical care assigned, including oversight of CRNA or trainee clinical assignments.
• Ensure compliance with MGH, CMS and JC guidelines and policies.
• Full compliance with all billing, departmental, institutional and external regulatory policies.
• Demonstrate professional behavior and engage in an effective, collaborative and congenial manner with other departmental and institutional members as part of a multidisciplinary team of caregivers. Professionalism: Staff anesthesiologists at the MGB OSC at Danvers are expected to:
• Engage in an effective, collaborative, and collegial manner with other departmental and institutional members as part of the multidisciplinary team of caregivers.
• Attend OSC site and Anesthesiology staff meetings.

Requirements:

• Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology or a comparable foreign national certifying organization (must pass oral boards, or comparable, within 3 years).
• Eligible to obtain a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Compliance with all billing, departmental, institutional (MGH, MGPO) and external regulatory policies.
• Exceptional judgment, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capacity to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, including, but not limited to, surgeons, nurses (CRNAs, RNs, NPs, CNMs) and other allied health professionals.
• Maintenance of active MA license, DEA (federal and state) certificates, and other institutional credentialing requirements at all times.
