CAA- Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants -- Menomonee Falls Ambulatory Surgery Center & Hospital / Medical College of Wisconsin The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) or Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its Adult Anesthesiology Division. The faculty provides more than 63,000 anesthetics annually in more than 100 anesthetizing locations on any given day, considering all affiliate hospitals, operating rooms, and out-of-the-OR locations. Patient Care What to expect when providing care as a CAA/CRNA at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Ambulatory Surgery Center/ Hospital? . The majority of cases that we care for, but are not limited to include: gastrointestinal, plastic surgery, general surgery, sports medicine, orthopaedics and ENT. Menomonee Falls does not require call or weekends We provide care in several different locations throughout the Milwaukee area, including:
- Froedtert Hospital, a 689-bed Level-1 Trauma Center that features an Integrated Procedural Platform with state-of-the-art equipment and technology across 32 ORs, approximately 16 out-of-OR anesthetizing locations daily, an award-winning Birth Center and a highly rated Cardiovascular intensive care unit located within a bustling regional medical center next to Wisconsin's largest city
- The Milwaukee VA Medical Center, a 196-bed hospital that is also home to a 5,000-square-foot simulation center.
- Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and Froedtert West Bend Hospital, which are both smaller, but similar full-service community hospitals that have adjacent ambulatory surgery centers.
• Two additional ambulatory surgery centers in Wauwatosa and Oak Creek The successful candidate must possess the ability to provide high quality anesthesia care to a complex pediatric patient population, working directly under the supervision of our Anesthesiologists and as part of a team of highly trained and dedicated team of CAAs and CRNAs. - Administer general and local anesthesia
- Maintain anesthesia delivery systems and monitors, including testing and calibration
- Prepare patients to be effectively monitored
- Monitor patients under anesthesia
- Make recommendations regarding anesthetic care plans
- Perform post-procedure tests on patients to ensure that they are recovering well
- Responsible for the operation of anesthesia equipment to monitor patients while delivering direct anesthesia care.
- Provide direct patient care before, during and after anesthesia to ensure continuity of care and quality.
- Obtain complete patient medical histories, conducting physical exams, and pre-procedure interviews
- Review the complete patient medical history to confirm its authenticity with the patient/family to ensure it is accurate with the physical exams and pre-procedure interviews
- Administer/order required diagnostic and laboratory tests
- Work with Anesthesiologists to determine the next step of prep for the procedures and begin the stages of prepping the patient for the procedure
- Employ CPR or other emergency procedures as indicated
