We average ~35 hours/week, with early finishes most days (ORs down to 2 rooms by 3:30 pm and 1 room by 5 pm). Average 3 deliveries/day. Call is very manageable---about 7 call shifts/month total, translating to roughly 3 first calls/month.

Second call is typically home by 5 pm unless there's a true emergency. The surgeons are outstanding---they respect CRNA autonomy, follow policies, honor NPO, and have actively supported our group during contract negotiations. This is a collegial, low-stress environment where teamwork actually exists.

Case mix

includes general surgery, bread-and-butter cases, healthy pediatrics, OB, GYN, urology, ortho, cataracts---no heads, hearts, lungs, or trauma. We do our own blocks. EMR is Cerner PowerChart.
