100% physician group - do your own cases - in Southeastern Wyoming. 90 minutes from Denver, 45 minutes from Ft. Collins. Full time position in the most flexible group in Wyoming. Immediate financial partnership.

Voting privileges after 1.5 years for new grads, 1 year for experienced anesthesiologists. Pay is RVU based, blended unit/"insurance blind" with unlimited vacation and equal access to schedule. We pick our rooms based on call position with an "FTE" proportionate number of 1st and last picks (and everything in between) -- associates and partners alike.

Most types of cases including gen surg, ortho, ob/gyn, uro, endo, neuro, vascular, plastics, peds dental, cardiac (CABGs and valves IF you are TEE capable, certification not required, 100-150/yr total cardiac cases for the hospital). The case variety is one of the benefits of the practice. ACS Level 3 Trauma Center (HOME call w 20 minute call in for OR, 30 for OB).

The main benefits of the group are fairness and flexibility. We have competitive production based pay using ASA RVU guide for base pay but pay 5 units/hr to incentivize time value cases which could otherwise be less favorable. Enjoy the ability to pick your own schedule and cases on a daily basis due to our equitable pick order (outside of 1st, 2nd and OB call picks, other room picks are "randomized" to achieve equitable number of each pick position) .

We have what we feel is the best practice in Wyoming and there is something for almost everyone here. Work in a very collegial environment with friendly surgeons and great partners. Enjoy all the benefits of Wyoming -- no state income tax, clean air, abundant outdoor activities.

Community - population ~60k, state school system ranked in top 10. Town served by regional airline service or drive to Denver International in 1:35. "Rush hour" in Cheyenne lasts about 15 minutes.

Downtown area has approximately a dozen restaurants (American, Italian, Asian [surprisingly decent sushi], Thai, Korean, Indian, Mexican, plus 5 craft breweries), other chain restaurants as well. City access without the hassle, we are ~1.5 hours from Denver International Airport, Denver Nuggets, Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rockies games, and Denver Center for the Performing Arts for Broadway productions. Cheyenne is home to Cheyenne Frontier Days (worldwide recognized rodeo), western culture, and concerts.

Great outdoor access to world class hunting, lake and fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, boating, etc. Vacation - our call schedule is made every 4 months, take as many weeks as you want, one doc takes 4-6 wks/yr, another takes 26+ wks/yr, the rest are in between. Call - stipend plus production so rarely difficult to give away if you prefer less call. Home call except for rare occasion of VBAC/TOLAC.

Call is allocated based on FTE - i.e. 26 weeks Vacation = ~50% FTE = ~half the amount of call of 0 wks Vacation. Frequently off post call (or working a short room). You can occasionally pick up extra call if desired.

Flexible start date - we will wait for the right candidate(s). TEE capable for cardiac cases

  • TEE credentialed at your current workplace with recent experience OR
  • New grad with TEE proficiency documented by residency program OR - 20+ hour TEE CME course within the last year OR

• TEE certification Please email for more information. FAQ: Are there any plans to fuse with a national chain? ABSOLUTELY NOT. How is the schedule made to be fair to all members? OR schedule is made 2 days in advance. 1st call gets 1st pick of rooms (equal call by FTE by www.AmIOn.com's program), 2nd call gets second pick, OB call (7p-7a) 3rd pick, then 4th to last pick is randomized by a computer program with observable stats. No differentiation between partner or associate. Are the units for compensation blended? yes, the group pays by the ASA RVU book for base units and 5 units per hour (12 minute increments), i.e. ASA 3, knee scope, 1:36 = 1+4+8 = 13 units. Is there a salary at any time e.g.) for nonpartners? No, because there is equal access to all work. How is malpractice in Wyoming? $10-20k/year based on part time/full time or for an "occurrence" or "claims made." This is tax deductible so it is significantly less actual cost than $10-20k. How frequent are calls? We use AmIOn/Doximity and Excel to figure the calls. For a full time anesthesiologist, It's about Q5 for overnight (1st and OB) and Q10 for 2nd call.
