  • Monday-Friday
  • Workday shifts as needed and may pick up call shifts on evenings/weekends as available. Additional Locations: Required to pick up shifts at 3 Wisconsin sites Major Responsibilities:
  • Provides all elements of pre-anesthesia, anesthesia and post-anesthesia services including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care consistent with anesthesia plan and in collaboration with the surgeon/anesthesiologist/surgical team.
  • Manages conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives.
  • Participates in preoperative evaluation including but not limited to assessment, exam, obtaining informed consent, ordering/administering pre‐medications, requesting and/or review of preoperative studies.
  • Ensures readiness and availability of equipment, supplies and medications to perform the planned anesthetic.
  • Delivers anesthesia care including induction, maintenance, support of life functions, and emergence from anesthesia.
  • Selects, obtains, and administers the necessary anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, fluids, and temperature regulating devices to manage the anesthetic, assesses response, and intervene as needed.
  • Performs post-anesthesia duties including remaining with the patient and facilitating safe transfer of care to other qualified individuals; administering post-operative epidural pain relief and other post-operative analgesia in collaboration with the surgeon; and making post-anesthetic visits regarding the presence or absence of anesthesia related complications.
  • Manage emergency situations by assessing, stabilizing, and determining disposition of patients, including providing advanced airway management, administration of emergency drugs and fluids, and using basic and advanced cardiac life support techniques.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Substantiates and submits professional services consistent with compliant coding and billing practices. License/Registration/Certification Required:
  • Active RN, and APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice, AND
  • Active national board certification as CRNA by nationally certifying board (NBCRNA).
  • Active DEA registration prior to hire
  • If Illinois practice: active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire
  • Active ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical site/practice and/or role prior to or within 6 months of hire Education Required: Master's Degree in Nursing Experience Required: No experience required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency, and excellent decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a health care team.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving technology and proficiency with the electronic medical record.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with and establish/build relationships with others.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • Must have functional vision and hearing.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
  • Carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
  • Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • Will be required to use foot pedals on carts or machines.
  • Will be exposed to the following hazards on a continuous basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood and body fluids.
  • Will be required to wear gloves, goggles and gowns on an as-needed basis.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during work shift.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
