The University of Maryland Department of Anesthesiology is growing. The Community Group Division of Anesthesiology at Midtown Campus has immediate openings for qualified individuals. Expected rank for these positions is Assistant Professor or higher; however, rank and tenure status is dependent on candidate's qualifications. Responsibilities include clinical care and teaching of fellows, residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists, and/or paramedics. University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus (UMMC MTC) is 1.3 miles from the main UMMC campus and is a community hospital serving patients in West Baltimore. Anesthesiologists in the Community Group Division at UMMC MTC care for patients in 7 operating rooms, 2 endoscopy rooms and one cystoscopy suite. UMMC Midtown is predominately an outpatient practice that averages more than 6,000 cases per year including orthopedic surgery, GI/endoscopy, vascular, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, ENT, gynecology, plastics, podiatry, urology, and general surgery. Strong regional anesthesia skills are encouraged to serve a growing orthopedic surgery service line. Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate's experience.
