Anesthesia Specialists of Bethlehem (ASB) is a 81-physician, 168 CRNA independent practice located in Bethlehem, PA. We are hiring full-time critical care anesthesiologists and a neuro-critical care anesthesiologist. These positions are available to new graduates and experienced physicians. This is a unique opportunity to practice anesthesiology and critical care medicine with an independent practice. Our affiliated hospital network, St. Luke's University Health Network, has grown rapidly over the past 10+ years. ASB is the exclusive provider of anesthesia services and provides critical care services for multiple ICUs in the network. The primary inpatient facility, St. Luke's University Hospital at Bethlehem is a Level One Trauma Center. The St. Luke's Anderson campus, a rapidly expanding Level Two Trauma Center houses a Mother and Baby Pavilion opened in January 2020 with over 3500 deliveries yearly and is opening a cardiac services pavilion. The additional ten hospitals we cover are full-service community hospitals. We also provide services at three ambulatory surgery centers and an orthopedic hospital. St. Luke's is also affiliated with Temple University Health System and adjunct faculty positions are available to our physicians. ASB has a very stable and growing team of 18 critical care anesthesiologists who provide care at a combination of tertiary and community-level ICUs. Critical care patient populations include cardiovascular, neuro, surgical, and medical critical care patients. The ICU service consists of a multidisciplinary rounding team, including residents, medical students, advanced practice students, advanced practitioners, critical care pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and critical care nurses. Care is coordinated with the full spectrum of specialists. In addition to anesthesia critical care colleagues, you would work with critical care physicians from other specialties, contributing to a well-rounded, collegial, multidisciplinary service line. We provide anesthesia coverage for the full spectrum of cases including orthopedics, cardiac, thoracic, neurosurgery, urology, OB, GYN, ENT, vascular, peds, and general surgery. A separate pediatric call team handles more challenging pediatric cases. We cover a growing number of non-OR anesthesia sites including GI, IR, and diagnostic imaging. We also run the pre-op programs, an acute pain service, the surgical optimization clinic, and have well-established ERAS protocols for almost all specialties. Finally, our staff is well-represented in leadership positions in the network. Please contact us for details of our compensation package. We offer an excellent compensation package with a fully funded 401K, CME funds, travel and cell phone stipends, sign-on bonus, and relocation expense coverage. There are opportunities for additional voluntary calls and OR shifts for extra pay. Time off totals 19 weeks per year, broken down as 6 weeks of vacation and 13 weeks post-call time.
