Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, a Johns Hopkins Medicine affiliate hospital located in southeastern Baltimore, is seeking dedicated and compassionate anesthesiologists to join our growing team! We are a collegial group of physician anesthesiologists and CRNAs who exclusively provide clinical anesthesia services at JHBMC in a mixed academic-community setting. As a member of the Johns Hopkins Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine (ACCM), you will be joining the ranks of an academic department with a rich history of providing world-class clinical care, resident and fellow training, and groundbreaking anesthesia and critical care research. In addition, JHBMC is home to Maryland's only accredited regional Burn Center and is a designated Level II trauma center. Our department is seeking anesthesiologists at all levels of experience for a full time, call-taking position that offers a flexible 4 day/week schedule (184 days per year) with opportunities for non-clinical time for pursuit of educational, research, or administrative interests. Clinical commitment may be increased to 5 days/week for additional compensation if desired. We employ a mixed care team model with opportunities to supervise CRNAs and Johns Hopkins residents (mostly 1:2, some 1:3), as well as the chance to perform solo cases. Case variety is diverse, consisting of general surgical, urologic, gynecologic-obstetric, thoracic, vascular, neurologic (spine, craniotomy), orthopedic, bariatric, burn, plastic, and trauma cases. Remote anesthetizing sites include GI endoscopy, interventional radiology, and TEE/cardioversion. A limited amount of healthy pediatric (>2y) cases also available. We maintain a robust regional anesthesia and Acute Pain Service who utilize both single shot and catheter-based regional blocks. Overnight in-house call is taken with one CRNA, with a backup (second call) attending taking call from home. All board certified/eligible anesthesiologists with a strong desire to grow in a thriving academic department are encouraged to apply!
