- The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center, the clinical partner of the T.H. Chan School of Medicine in Worcester, MA, is looking for General Anesthesiologists to join the Memorial Hospital group. The Department comprises 160 clinical providers with diverse cultural backgrounds, delivering state of the art perioperative care across a clinical platform which has grown to include 7 clinical sites: three Hospitals, two Ambulatory Surgery Centers, and two GI centers. This position offers an opportunity to be engaged in a variety of cases, including General, Orthopedic (including spine surgery and joint replacement), Thoracic, ENT, Hepatobiliary, Neuro, and MIS Surgery, Urology, and GYN, as well as to provide care on the Obstetric service with 5000 deliveries per year, while supervising a group of experienced CRNAs and training the next generation of perioperative physicians. Pediatric Surgical Patients are cared for by a dedicated Pediatric Anesthesia Team. - The Memorial Hospital environment offers o 17 operating rooms with 12,000 cases annually o Multiple robotic rooms for General, Thoracic, GYN, and Ortho cases o A Busy high-risk Obstetric service with 5000 deliveries/year o 25 adult ICU beds o Built-in post-call days to ensure work-life balance o Ability to generate additional income with incentivized voluntary additional call o Self-insurance with a tail coverage and robust hospital Risk Management Eligible individuals should have the following qualifications:
- Must hold and MD or DO degree and qualify for a Massachusetts license
- Be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology The Department, in partnership with the Medical School, is committed to the ongoing professional development of the faculty.
