- Employment Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday to Friday Location: Birmingham, AL -- Outpatient Endoscopy Centers Travel: Occasional travel to other endoscopy centers in Birmingham area as needed Job Description: Birmingham Gastroenterology Associates is seeking a full-time CRNA to join our experienced team providing patient-centered anesthesia care across three outpatient endoscopy centers in Birmingham. This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of a high-performing, physician-led GI team offering a consistent Monday - Friday schedule, with no call, no weekends, and no holidays, in a collaborative and supportive Ambulatory Surgery Center environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia for endoscopic procedures
- Must be able to work independently and collaborate with gastroenterologists and other healthcare professionals
- Administers anesthesia and demonstrates skills including intravenous cannulization, drug administration, airway management, endotracheal intubation, manual and mechanical ventilation, and monitoring
- Ability to continually reassess patients and alter plan of care in collaboration with gastroenterologist
- Complete an accurate and thorough assessment of patients and develop a plan of care for anesthesia, and report changes in the patient's condition to gastroenterologist
- Check and clean anesthesia equipment in assigned area after procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively analyze, interpret, and solve problems
- Intermediate-level computer skills Microsoft Office Suite and database skills
- Knowledge of EMR Software is a plus
- Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master's degree in Nurse Anesthesia- Required
- Current Alabama license to practice as a CRNA and Registered Nurse- Required
- Graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the AANA Council on Certification- Required
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)- Required
- Current ACLS and BLS certification- Required
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) required at time of hire- Required
- Minimum 2 years of CRNA experience providing care to adult and geriatric populations (GI experience preferred)
- Must be able to perform tracheal intubation and airway management as needed Compensation, Benefits, & Perks:
