- APN (Nurse Anesthetist), salary range at $152,854- $211,607 This position is located with the Division of Clinical Services, Medical Services Branch/Anesthesiology at one of the various Hospitals or Clinics under the Navajo Area Indian Health Service. The primary purpose is to provide anesthetic agents and supportive treatments to patients undergoing a large variety of surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Duties include:
- Assess the patient's preoperative physical status to determine the degree of risk involved in the planned procedures.
- Induces maintains and manages general anesthesia by rectal, parenteral, or inhalation routes, with or without endotracheal intubation or laryngeal mask airway.
- Participates in the immediate post-anesthetic care, especially in maintaining adequate airway, ventilation, and oxygenation.
- Participates in the retrospective evaluation of the quality of anesthesia care.
